Floor Session:
We had multiple afternoon Floor Sessions this week and had some extended debate as well. This led to long days, but that is normal for this point in the Session as we try to finish up the legislative business and end the Session at, or near, our target adjournment date. HJR 8 was a proposed Constitutional amendment to strengthen victims rights in the State. It failed because a 2/3 majority (47 votes) was needed to pass and it received only 42 votes.
As in previous Legislative Sessions, all Bills passed and all votes are "YES" unless otherwise noted. aaH and aaS indicate Bills amended in House or Senate.

We completed setting the budgets this week, with the exception of the Executive Office of the Governor which is waiting to see if pertinent legislation gets passed that would affect the budget. We also heard "trailer appropriations" that are driven by legislation passed during the Session. Another set of competing motions was made for the State Liquor Division revolving around whether or not to add two liquor stores in Ada County.
