ABOUT SAGE

My wife and I moved our family to North Idaho twelve years ago,  We came seeking a more independent, less regulated lifestyle from where we were living. After sharing a home with friends, and then living in a mobile home for a space of time, we were shown a small piece of acreage, north of Sandpoint, that is now our home. We have been blessed to share our property with a variety of livestock, a wonderful garden, fruit trees, and are surrounded by beautiful views and gracious neighbors.

I am currently employed as a superintendent for an electrical contracting firm in CDA, prior to this I owned my own small business for over eight years, operating out of Sandpoint and working in most of Bonner and Boundary Counties.  This experience gave me an opportunity to meet with a wide variety of people from all over District 1. Longtime residents, vacation home owners,  homes on Lake Pend D'Orielle, homes tucked away in the mountains, churches, schools, farms, ranches, wealthy business owners, and those struggling to make it in a tough economy. Everyone was treated with the same honesty and integrity, and I would like to think I left everyone I worked for or with, satisfied that I gave them the best I could.

I was a finance major at San Jose State University, and did an internship with Shearson, Lehman, and Hutton in the late 1980's. Following college, I entered the electrical field and have been involved in management for the past 15 years. I have completed various continuing education classes in sustainable agriculture, leadership, and subjects related to the electrical field.

Politically, I have been asked or chosen to run for office multiple times over the past eight years. In 2011, I was selected by The Bonner County Commissioners to be on the Property Rights Council, where I served as vice-chair. I was also the President of The Friends of Idaho, an NGO whose mission is to protect the Constitutional rights of Idaho and its citizens.  IN 2012, I was a candidate for Bonner County Commissioner.

I continually have served others in the Church in various capacities, served as a speech and debate coach for the NCFCA, and am presently formulating a business plan to start an independent Classical Liberal Arts school for Bonner County.
