Floor Session:

Due to the number of House Bills on our Floor docket, we began holding afternoon Floor Sessions this week. Our transmittal date was March 5, which means that is the day we are to send all House Bills over to the Senate to be heard. However, we are still holding Committee hearings on House Bills, which may mean that some of our Legislation may not be heard in the Senate due to time constraints.

As in previous Legislative Sessions, all Bills passed and all votes are "YES" unless otherwise noted. aaH and aaS indicate Bills amended in House or Senate.

More budget setting for the various agencies again this week. We had a little excitement with competing motions being offered for the Secretary of State's budget. The substitute and amended substitute motions both added roughly $2 million to the budget. Both failed, and we went with the original motion, which did not please the Secretary of State.
